At the end of May 2021 we did a beautiful hike in Zermatt. Since the winter was long and harsh, there was still snow on some paths.

We started the hike at Winkelmatte which is a suburb of Zermatt (It was once a separate small hamlet, but as Zermatt has grown it has become incorporated within the greater conurbation).

we walked direction the lovely village Zmutt where we had a coffee break, then we tooked the road at the arch dam of the Zmuttbach (the hiking trail from Zmutt to the Waterfall was unfortunately closed because of risk of avalanche... in some places there is still too much snow)

When we got to the waterfall we were lucky, we could see the Matterhorn for a few minutes before the clouds returned. The path continues until the Schönbielhütte, but seeing that the weather seemed to change and also that we had not taken anything to eat with us 😅🤷🏻‍♀️ we took a return path towards Furi . It will be for a next time 😁

the way is easy (not steep), and also ideal with the bike 😉

enjoy your weekend 🙋🏻‍♀️
