we loved it ! We were well received, we ate and slept very well 😊 and we look forward to coming back 😁

This place is ideal for everyone. of course for the hikers, the mountain bikers,… for the nature lovers, even for those who don't like or can't walk too much, but who would like to spend one (or more) night in the mountains and in peace. The cable car station is right next to https://gasthaus-gitschenen.ch . Down in the village (St. Jakob) the car parks are free, but we would recommend taking the bus from isleten (or Altdorf), firstly to avoid too much traffic in this beautiful valley, and secondly because the road is very narrow in places.

What we immediately loved about this place is of course the calm and the fact that nature is still intact and wild, nowadays it is rare to walk on hiking trails without seeing any waste (unfortunately 🙈), we must not only photograph this beautiful nature, we must also respect and preserve it (please do not leave any waste 🙏). Other positiv fact, there are no facilities to attract mass tourism 🙏 glad to see there are still such places 😌

So, we took in the morning the small gondola from St. Jakob 977m to Gitschenen 1538m, and from there we did a short hike towards Sulztaler Hütte 1600m, up to Sinnsgäuer Schonegg 1917m. There we took a break of about 30min and just enjoyed the calm and this splendid Panorama. Then we walk back down towards Alpeler Wald 1540m, and did this little circular walk towards Geissboden 1604m, and back to Gitschenen 1538 m @berggasthausgitschenen ❤️ where we Drank a huge beer (well deserved 😁🍺) and had a wonderful stay (See last post). On this easy circular walk (which take about 30 to 40min from the hut/ cable car station) there were so many wild flowers 😍 (and cows 😆🐮) it was a real happiness for my eyes 😁 I couldn’t stop to say : OMG ! Amazing ! So beautiful !… 😁

After a restful & peaceful night and a delicious breakfast 💚 we set off again from Gitschenen 1538 m. The weather was not so great, but we still tried to climb a little bit via Ober Bolgen 1823m, Bi den Seelenen 1967m, Schwalmis Gaden 2047m until Hinterjochli 2105m, hoping that the sun would come out at this time. But unfortunately it was 2 hours of walking in the fog (another lesson that hiking teaches us : you can't have everything in life, be content with what you already have). Anyway, despite the bad weather it was still a very beautiful hike 😁. Arriving in Hinterjochli we imagined the view there could be 😆 as I have already written, it gives us one more reason (among so many) to come back to this magnificent valley. Afterwards we descended via Staldeli 1225m, until St.Jakob 977m. And The long descent we felt it in the knees 😆🙈 yeah, we are no longer 20 years old… that we felt it too 🤣)
